Summer O Summer

Here we are again, another summer no spring, fields tilled and ready for food to be grown.  We've had a long long winter and I think from bugs to humans we're ready for this change of season.  Robins are hatching eggs, Phil cats are spending nights outdoors, and we humans are burning from the refusal to go inside while the sun still shines.  So, cheers to you and your summer!  I'm posting some pictures from around the farm.  Hop plants to be grown on the silo, the revamped garden space, tomatoes (!), and fiiinnnnalllly a clothesline!

Awakening of Spring

Minnesotans are feeling spring and so are the animals.  Phil is falling easily back into his adventures in the great outdoors.  Where does he go?  We have no idea, but are seriously considering a GoPro cat attachment.  Ross acquired a new toy for the summer and he's working on it or the motorcycle each night.  There's a new pup in the country block that came to hang with us a few nights back.  And the clouds have changed.  They are a great symbol of spring and we love watching them shift and take different shapes.

A Look Back at France

We have officially been on the farm for a year.  A year ago, Ross and I had just been traveling in Turkey where we got engaged.  From there I went on to travel to France and then we returned stateside where we moved to the farm.  I've been re-playing scenes of those most recent travels in my daydreams and loving it.  I wrote a post last summer about the organic farm in Turkey here.  Now, I'll share some photos of France because...I love France.

These first photos are from the homestead where I lived for about three weeks in southern France near a village called La Serpent.  It was full of magic and that entire region is pretty incredible.  It's just a known thing that people squat in the hills.  They pull up their caravans, put their solar panels up and live...rent free.  I walked for hours each day with the doggins.  We would tramp through the hills, visit those squatters, explore abandoned homes and take in the views of nearby mountains.

I rounded out my time visiting much loved places in Paris.  I continued my pattern of walking everywhere and had multiple blisters on my feet.  They never seemed to bother me because I was so happy exploring.  Well, now that I've revisited all these pictures, perhaps it's time to start planning my next trip back to la France!
